Why can't I use SMS on a Legacy Plan?

What is a Legacy Plan?

A "Legacy" plan is any MobileMonkey subscription plan from before the Spring of 2019. Before this, we charged based on the number of Contacts in your account, whereas now we charge based on the number of sends from your bot.

This usage-based plan is more compatible with Facebook's 24-hour rule. Since not all of your contacts are always reachable, you don't have to pay for them.

It's also more compatible with SMS. Since MobileMonkey pays a small amount for each SMS or MMS message that is sent from our platform, we pass that fee onto our customers.

Why can't I use SMS on a legacy plan?

Since MobileMonkey pays a small fee for each SMS or MMS message sent from our platform, we need a mechanism to pass that fee onto the end customer. The Legacy plans don't provide this as they only charge based on number of contacts.

What if I have a promo code?

For the same reason above, Promo Codes cannot be used with SMS.

How did we do?
